Meet Our Team
Susan Downey joined St. Mary Health Care Center as the Administrator in 2017. She brings extensive experience as a Nursing Home Administrator, CEO and Nurse Executive in a number of organizations in Massachusetts. She began her career as a nurse and brings passion for customer service, programming, clinical excellence and outcomes to St. Mary’s. She earned her BSN and Masters in Health Care Administration from Simmons College.
Director of Nursing
Deborah Tata is a Leominster native who has been working in health care forever it seems. She has been part of St. Mary’s since 2011. She graduated from Fitchburg State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing. She has worked in several roles here: Unit Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing, and now the Director of Nursing Services. Her priority is resident advocacy to ensure the best care for your loved ones. It is important for her to maintain a comforting, spiritual and engaging environment for our residents and staff members. Aside from practically living here, she loves spending her time out of work at the gym, hiking or snuggled up with her three dogs Pixie, Flip, & Sugar. Deborah is an avid dog rescue volunteer and is always helping and fostering homeless pups in need whenever she is able for local and nationwide animal rescue organizations.
Director of Admissions
Edie Nelson is the Director of Admissions here at St. Mary since 2010 bringing with her over 25 years of experience in long term care. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and has certifications in various fields such as End of Life Care, Gerontology, Human Resources, and Vet Assisting. She is well-rounded and is known for her passion in understanding families and their loved ones’ needs. Her expertise is in creating a warm, comforting, and relaxed transition for families and residents to St. Mary. When Edie isn’t checking in with family members she can be found entertaining guests with Harry Connick Jr. music and home cooked meals straight from the Food Network Channel.
Roland White is the Clinical Coordinator for the 5th Floor residents. He joined the St. Mary's family in 1997 and has been a continuing support for resident rights and palliative care. He graduated from Quinsigamond Community College, and continued his passion for healthcare by attending Worcester Technical Institute for Practical Nursing. Roland is known for using his humor to balance the seriousness of his work with the enjoyment of his residents. When he isn’t entertaining his residents he can be found working on home renovations projects with his two dogs, Niko and Besos.
Louise Earley is the Clinical Coordinator for the 3rd Floor Alzheimer’s Unit. She joined St. Mary’s team in 2007 as a supervisor working her way to her current position as a strong asset to the residents on the floor. She earned her LPN degree at Quinsigamond Community College. She is known for her friendly disposition in handling all situations while striving for positive outcomes for her residents. Louise is a fun loving grandmother who enjoys spending her free time smooching her grandkids.
Emily Bermudez is the Clinical Coordinator for the 4th floor residents. She joined our family in 2017 hailing from Leominster. She has been an RN since 2011; graduating from Mt. Wachusett Community College. Emily always knew she wanted to be a nurse, but while her twin boys were young she chose to drive a school bus so she could spend the most time with them. They are now grown and in college! Besides working hard on the 4th floor, Emily enjoys her coffee, working out and spending time with her “Mumma’s”-her 4 year old pit bull
Director of Clinical Information Systems
Pablo Murillo is the Director of Clinical Information Systems and has returned to St. Mary after first joining in 2005 when he was an intern. He graduated with an Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems- Programming at Quinsigamond Community College. Pablo is known for his gentle approach towards residents and staff and his ability to quickly assist in technology related mishaps. When he isn't troubleshooting, you can find him meddling around salt water reef aquariums. Office aquarium coming soon!
Business Office Manager
Michele Flamand is the Business Office Manager and has been part of the St. Mary Family since 1992. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education at Worcester State University. Michele has over 20 years of knowledge in finance and billing. She is known for her work ethics and willingness to assist family members with billing questions. When she isn't balancing the books, you can find Michele with her two children Brandon and Hailey soaking in the sun.
Director of Mission & Pastoral Care
Sr. Dorothy Scesny
Sr. Dorothy Scesny joined St. Mary Health Care Center in September 2014 as Director of Mission and Spiritual Care. She entered the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fitchburg, MA. Sister has a Master’s Degree in Religious Education, from Fordham University in CT. and a Masters in Divinity from Andover-Newton Theological School in Newton, MA.
She has taught in primary, elementary and secondary schools and has been Director of Religious Education and Pastoral Associate in several parishes in MA, CT, RI and Washington, DC. Her many ministries have included teen ministry, urban ministry, prison ministry, retreat ministry and Peace & Justice ministry. Sr. Dorothy has also been in Leadership positions in her congregation, regionally and internationally and has held membership in national organizations. In the 1990’s she served as President of the Presentation Health Care Center . She is currently a member of the National Catholic Association of Catholic Chaplains.
She enjoys free time with sister/friends of her congregations, and adventures with her family.
Director of Social Services
Carol Morey joined the St. Mary Health Care Center family in 2008 as the Director of Social Service . She graduated from UMASS Amherst with a Bachelors of Science Degree and has over 25 years of experience. She is known for her commitment for making sure Residents and their family members are at ease the moment they step into our home. When Carol isn't assisting Residents, you can find her outdoors biking, skiing, and kyacking.
ADON / Director of Staff Development
Valerie Laurence LPN WCC has worked in the field of Long Term Care and Rehab since 1994. She started doing floor nursing with charge responsibilities etc. For the last 17 years, as the Assistant Director of Nurses and Staff Development Role, Valerie has been overseeing the education and fundamental teaching as well as overseeing the infection control and prevention within multiple buildings. Valerie started at St. Mary in 2010 leaving in 2015 to pursue other challenges, she returned in February 2018. Valerie is an active member of professional organizations including MAIC, and an Advisory member of the Baypath Practical Nursing Academy and Tantasqua Certified Nursing assistant program. Valerie is involved in and enjoys attending renaissance fairs with her 2 teenage boys.
Directors of Recreational Therapy
Sandy Geller recently joined the St. Mary Health Care Center Staff with over 32 years of experience as the Director of Recreational Therapy. She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelors of Science Degree and continued on to earn her Master’s Degree at Florida State University. Known for her passion to learn from Residents who teach her the importance of faith and friendship, she believes in supporting Residents as active and caring members of the larger community. When Sandy isn’t prepping for Resident parties, she can be found planting in her garden with her cat Blackie.
Stephenie Jackson is the Program Director of the Special Care Unit and has been in the healthcare field for 22 years. She has been an Activity Professional for 18 years. She is a Certified Activity Professional and a Certified Dementia Practitioner who earned her Associates Degree at Quinsigamond Community College. She is known for her passion in making Residents laugh and interact with others. She strives to educate others to look past the disease and focus on the Resident as a unique individual. Her love for teaching Alzheimer's classes enables St. Mary Staff to better care for Residents with dementia and cognitive impairment.

Food Service Manager
Bradley Stabile is a Michigander who has been working with food his entire life. He studied IT, specializing in Computer Hardware, but found himself desiring to get out from behind the desk and back into the heat of the kitchen. Starting as a waiter at Red Robin he branched out and found himself serving at Assisted Living facilities and working weekends in catering halls serving wedding receptions, birthday parties, golf outings or baby showers. After a short time the opportunity presented itself for him become a leader working as an Assistant Director, in Hospitals as a Systems Patient Services Manager and most current, Director of Food & Nutrition. As of November 2017 he joined the St. Mary’s team building up the Food & Nutrition Department. He lives to provide healthy, enjoyable, heartwarming food to the people who matter most. Brad enjoys spending time outdoors walking or running, mingling with strangers, traveling, eating and working on electronics in his spare time.
